ASUS Chromebox launched in India for Rs 21,000 onwards.
Recently ASUS launched its first Chromebox series in India. The main aim of this Chromebox was to provide a compact and easy to carry solution for PC users. The device is claimed to be a powerful one, so we got a change to take a look at it and see if this device is really worth its value.
This ASUS Chromebox comes in three models:
- ASUS Chromebox CN60 – with Intel Celeron processor priced at Rs 21,000
- ASUS Chromebox CN60 – with Intel Core i3 processor priced at Rs 36,500
- ASUS Chromebox CN60 – with Intel Core i5 processor priced at Rs 58,000
Let us take a look at the ASUS Chromebox
This Chromebox comes with a 16GB M.2 NGFF SSD along with 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years. While the Celeron model of ASUS Chromebox comes with 2GB of RAM whereas the Core i3 and i5 houses a 4GB RAM.
As the picture suggests, ASUS Chromebox looks compact and is meant for portable use. It features a dual-band 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n. The USB ports are placed in the front while two extra ports are available at the rear side.While the rear side of Chromebox comprises of DC power in slot, a LAN port, two USB 3.0 ports and a mic-in/headphone out jack. The Intel Core series of Chromeboxes can easily output 4K UHD content as well.
The compact size of this Chromebox makes it easier to VESA-mount behind the monitor. As you can see in the image, this Chromebox is easily able to power a 4K ASUS monitor.
With this Chromebox a wireless keyboard and a mouse combo is also bundled which are quite good. Overall we are impressed with the Chromebox although its price will make buyers think twice before purchasing, specially the i3 and i5 variants.
